God Is Still There
God is still there even when your circumstances change. He is not only God when things are good—He is also God when things are bad.
I remember I was in the kitchen one day, going through roadblocks after roadblocks, and warfare after warfare. I had prayed and fasted, and I knew God was talking to me. I was doing what He said, but I wasn’t getting the results yet.
In my frustration, I said, “God, You don’t love me anymore, right? I know You don’t love me anymore.”
He said to me clearly:
“Do not measure the extent of My love with things. Just because things are not smooth doesn’t mean I’m not still your God. I am the good God in provision, and I am the good God in lack. Perhaps if things were going smoothly, it would be easy for you to believe that I love you. But since they are not going your way, you think I have disappeared and left you in the desert? Do not judge My presence in your life or My love for you by your circumstances. Your circumstances will change, but I will still be here loving you.”
I smiled and said, “So You are still here.”
That’s what I’m saying to you today. You may not see Him or even feel Him, but know this: He is closer than a brother.
Warfare will come, but God will stay.
Warfare will end, but God will stay.
Trials will come and go, but God will stay.
He is still here.
“Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” – Hebrews 13:5
