A Gentle Reminder to Be Patient with Yourself

Healing isn’t a race. It’s not a finish line you sprint towards, checking off tasks from a list until you’re suddenly “healed.” Healing is a slow, quiet walk. It’s a series of small, gentle steps forward, and sometimes, a few steps back.

If you’re feeling frustrated with your progress, or if you’re comparing your journey to someone else’s, I want you to pause for a moment. Take a deep breath. Acknowledge the pain or the struggle, but don’t let it define you.

Your heart is a magnificent garden. It needs time to grow. Some seasons will be full of sunshine and vibrant blooms, while others will be colder, quieter, and focused on the roots. Trust the process.

Be patient with yourself. Give yourself the same grace you would give a dear friend. Your healing is a unique and personal masterpiece, and it’s unfolding exactly as it should.

“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” โ€“ Psalm 147:3
